We wish we would have updated the website sooner, but January has been a very busy month for us. After receiving the good news in December that Jackson's MRI was stable, we have spent virtually every day trying to find ways to help Jackson with his progress. He is still tired, still developmentally delayed, and still not walking well. Despite the physical and speech therapy he's been going to, we have seen virtually no improvement. Therefore, we are trying hard to find new ideas. Jackson's new neurologist and physiatrist have given us some new insight about Jackson's condition and treatments. They are both great and really seem to care a lot about Jackson. Recently, we have also been trying to work with our school district to find something more appropriate than his current pre-school (and more consistent with what his doctors say he needs); however, so far we have been unsuccessful on that end.
This Wednesday, we are meeting with a naturopathic doctor who specializes in developmental delays, and on Thursday, we have an assessment with the regional center. On Friday, he has an eye doctor appointment to see how the old blue glasses are doing.
Last week, Jackson began riding horses at an indoor theraputic riding school just for kids with disabilities. The people there are great. On his very first outing, Jackson rode his horse like a real cowboy! Perhaps when your brother's name is Wyatt, you know that you have to be able to ride.
Thank you for continuing support team Jackson with your thoughts and prayers. Yee-haw!

Love to see him in the saddle again.....love your updates as I learn from them. My luv to you all. Granny D yee haw!
Hello Jobe Family,
Congratulations on the stable MRI! Sorry to hear about Jackson’s slow progress. He is such a sweet boy and I wish nothing but the best for him and for the rest of your family. Keri and Kelly hang in there. You are doing an amazing job! I know it must be frustrating at times, but take comfort in the fact that Jackson is still here with you. He is a gift from God and I’m glad to have met him (even if it was only for a day or two). Take care of each other and give the boys a hug for me.

Well whoooo-hooo for our little cowboy!!! That is great picture of you Jackson.
Hopefully your assessment goes well today. I will keep up the prayers and hopefully some new strategy for Team Jackson will surface!
Keep up the smiling Jackson (I love to see the pictures) and send big a HI to Wyatt.
Patricia, Juan, Tommy & Nicky.
This may not be of any help at all, but I worked at the Regional Center 20 + years ago. I know they don’t have the same people there, but if you want help in wading through the system, I might be able to help. I’ve kept up with only a few people, but could probably find some names of other assessment places and possible specialists. I don’t know if I can be of help, but I can try. I do know it’s hard to find just the right services when your kid doesn’t “fit the mold.”
Horseback riding is so much fun! It might take awhile for Jackson to get back energy, etc. It took Isaac about a full year after finishing radiation to have any energy at all. He still struggles even before starting chemo again). But we could see a big difference start about a year/a8 months after chemo.
Keep doing all you can. Hopefully Jackson’s energy will start to come back soon and everything else will follow too.
Karen, Isaac’s Mom
