Battle on

Jackson is doing pretty well.  He is still tired and has his moments of crankiness but he is also seeming a little more grown up when it comes to treatment related neccessities.  He now wears his glasses every day.  He also takes his oral meds with less of a fight.  He cringes a little but doesn't kick and scream like he used too. He also asks for juice immediately after taking the meds.  This seems like a small thing to most people but it is a big change for us.  He has started coming out of the fog he has been in... he seems to understand a little more that he must take the meds and juice makes it taste better.  He is also becoming more comfortable around people.  In fact, at our Endocrinologist appointment he reached for the doctor and had the Dr. hold him through the whole meeting.  Six months ago he would not go near a Doctor. Small steps, but we will take it!

The Endocrinologist did confirm that he has low growth hormone.  This means he will not grow like most kids.  He can take growth hormones to remedy the problem but they don't start them until he has been off treatment for at least a year.  So, for now he will stay his same adorable size and he and Wyatt can share clothes.

We did labs on Tuesday and his platelets are low, we will retest on Monday to see if he needs a transfusion and in the meantime, no rough housing for him and Wy Wy.

Our next MRI and chemo round is July 28th.  Please, keep Jackson in your thoughts and prayers as he continues to battle on!

Wow!!!??  What a difference 4 can make!!  First you start wearing your glasses and then you catch on to the concept of taking those pesky medications....wow....so very proud of you Jackson.

As for the growth thing, my boys are almost the same size too, my almost 5 year old wears the same size as his 3 year old brother!  In the end it just means that laundry for mommy & daddy is alot easier and people will always ask if you are twins!!!  Tommy loves setting people straight as to who is older!!

Keep on fighting Jackson, Team Jackson will keep on praying and hoping.  Happy 4th of July Jobe Family, may the fireworks bring many giggles and smiles to your boys.

Oh little big man!  So grown up taking your meds without a fight.  Many adults don’t even do that!  We’re so proud of you and your family for your strength in your every day battles.  The tractor is hooked up to the hay trailer whenever you and Wyatt want to come out for a ride.

hi Jack,
we think you are doing great and look cute in your glasses.

Keri, here’s sending you good thoughts and salute! Thanks for your constant update.

Davina is just enjoying our last week here in Singapore before heading back home to Jakarta. There’s been no concerns so far and she’s been active and well.

Hugs,
Frida.
