“Get Wy Wy”
This was a tiring week for us. Kelly went back to work and I braved the daytime on my own.  Jack and I did our first solo SF trip. Thursday, Jackson had another hearing test under anesthesia.  The test wasn't until 12:00 and Jackson wasn't allowed to eat. Since we drove in that morning I again pulled out all the stops and turned on the portable DVD to keep his mind off his hunger.  Thanks to Tigger Movie (twice) we made it to SF with only some minor screaming for "snack" and "milk".  After the test we then went to the clinic for his IV antibiotic infusion.  We finished at 5 pm and rather than braving the Bay Bridge, we stayed at the Family House and drove home in the morning.  I have to admit I was a little nervous to go by myself but we did great with only a few minor meltdowns.
The hearing test showed some high frequency hearing loss in one ear.  These are the same results we have had in the past and should not affect hearing in the speech range.  This is great news since Jack is finally starting to talk.  His speech is still hard to understand and is no where near where it should be for his age but it is really starting, every day it seems to be getting a little better.
We again met with the Bone Marrow Transplant Doctors who have finally lifted the isolation precautions.  This means he can now be around animals, go to parks, eat fruits and veggies (yeah right), go to restaurants and most importantly play with other children.  Jackson has not had much interaction with kids this past year and it shows.  He is very shy and uncomfortable around other kids and is not ready for any interactions that don’t include me right by his side, so right by his side I will be until he is ready.  Treatment has been hard on him and his rehabilitation is going slow but we see amazing improvements every day. There are days we are sad, angry and frustrated by his regression but we remind ourselves that less then a year ago he couldn’t walk or talk.  It is truly amazing that he has had any development considering the strength of the treatment he has received.  So we are thankful for that!
We have finally been able to have a little bit of fun this week too.  Jackson's energy has been great and his new favorite game is to chase Wyatt around and "get Wy Wy." It is amazing to finally see them playing together.  Wyatt seems a little surprised that someone is actually chasing him but loves every minute of it!

Good job, brave momma!  I’m just learning how daunting going out with 2 kids alone can be under any circumstance, much less all you all have to cope with.  Glad to hear the restrictions are off, and keep chasing Wyatt, Jackson!  We’re looking forward to seeing you at the Daily ranch.

What a huge week!!! No more isolation!!! Well it will be just a matter of time before Jack’s shyness disappears and Maggie, Abigayle, and Brendon show him all the ropes. Easter will be loads of fun and there’s is so much to be thankful for. God has been answering so many prayers and we’ll continue to pray until Jackson is completely healed. Kelly and Keri, you are amazing parents and I want to say through all of this how wonderful you’ve been to share each phase of Jack’s struggles and triumphs with everyone.
One day at a time...we are here for you too. Love, Missy

What a great week!  Keri and Jackson--what an awesome team you make on your own!  It’s so so wonderful to hear such good news!!

We can’t wait to have Easter/Ryan’s 1st birthday here now that you can travel around more.  We know Jackson’s feeling shy these days, but Brendan and the rest of us just love having him nearby, and Wyatt is always tons of fun, too!

We’re looking forward to seeing you for another playdate soon!

Hi Jack and Wyatt.  I heard you did good on your doctors visit.  I had fun on our last playdate at grandmas and grandpas.  If its not raining maybe we can go to the jelly belly factory!  See you soon.  Bren

You are all very impressive.  Sending good vibes out to you.  Your strength and patience is not only impressive, it is a good reminder to those of us that do not have to deal with the challenges you are confronting and overcoming.  Thinking of you.

To the Jobe family,
Every single one of you… dad, mom, Jackson and Wyatt, are an incredible inspiration and testimony to what love, family and courage are about.
Thank you for sharing with us!

Hang in there, Keri!  It must be challenging without Kelly to help with the daily obstacles.  And you, too, Kelly—it must be so hard to be away from your family after all of these months.  We are thrilled to hear that Jackson is throwing Wy Wy for a loop and, as always, our thoughts are with all of you daily.  Take care of each other!
