Back Home
On Monday, Jackson returned to UCSF for pre-chemo testing.  On Tuesday, he went without food or drink until 2:00 p.. so that he could go under for his eye exam.  The eye exam is a bit painful and he did not open his eyes for another day or so.  But his patience paid off -- the doctors again found no evidence of retinoblastoma, and eye-cancer which is sometimes associated with pineoblastoma.  This is very good news again.  Later that day, Jackson received immune system related infusions.  Finally, on Wednesday afternoon, after a few delays, Jackson had his chemotherapy infusion.  The infusion ended at about 3:00 p.m. so we were able to beat the traffic over the bridge and come home.  After all of the inpatient chemo he's had in the past, it felt very weird to just pack up and leave as soon as the infusion was complete--but he handled it well and did not throw up at all.  Jack slept most of the day each day from Monday to Wednesday, but by yesterday he had a bit more energy and even began talking a bit more.  He's still very tired from the radiation, but we are starting to see a glimpse of increased energy.  Thank you to all of Team Jackson for supporting Jack along the way.
