No sooner than we thought we were home, we had to go back to SF for an unscheduled surgery. Over the past week, Jackson has had some drainage or leaking from his chest "tubies" (broviac catheter). We have been closely monitoring the situation, but yesterday the doctors made the decision that it had to be removed. So just as soon as we got home to Sacramento, it was time to head back for surgery. Yesterday was a very long day, we made the long trip to SF, waited for surgery, had surgery, recovered, and came home. We were exhausted. The surgery seems to have gone well and Jackson no longer has his tubies. The bummer is that in the next few weeks when he has follow-up stuff they'll likely have to stick him with an IV, but the good news is that his broviac did not become infected, they pulled it before it had a chance... Thank you for keeping up with Jackson!!!

Hey there big guy! We are sorry that you had to have another surgery, but are so thankful everything went okay and there was no infection from the tube removal! We hope this can make you more comfortable at home, and you are able to play with Wy Wy!! We love you and miss you terribly! xoxo
Hey Jackson,
Glad to hear NO INFECTION!!! We always must find the positive. Sorry those “tubies” had to come out during your “at home time.” But the good side is they are out and you are good!!
Tell Wyatt hello from Tommy & Nicky and you boys keep making mommy & daddy smile!!

I am so sorry. I remember taking out the broviac from Jayson and it was the best thing that could happen. Just watch it as it sometimes can open. Since he had the surgery I am sure it is stitched shut but we had that problem. It is a relief to them not to have the tubes. At least that is out but sorry to hear that. How is he feeling...? You ok?
Hi guys, I am sooo happy to hear that you are all able to come home now!! And Jackson, that’s great you have your ‘tubies’ out and they weren’t infected! And just remember if you have another IV stick, think happy thoughts and read a fun book or watch the good’ol movie Cars to distract ya. I miss you and WyWy very much and your parents too. Take care and call whenever k. Love Trish
