Still In, But Hopefully Out Soon

Jackson remains in the hospital; however, his rash appears to be healing somewhat.  His itching is still pretty significant, but his fever is gone, and his blood counts are up.  We expect his release in the next few days.  His spirits are on the rise, but he still hasn't eaten since we can remember.  We are hopeful that when Jackson is released, he will start eating.  He always eats better at home -- he won't even try the hosptial food anymore.  We have Texas Toast in the freezer ready for him, so we're feeling pretty confident -- it's like having Jonathan Papelbon warming up in the bullpen.

In the meantime, the doctors at UCSF (and at other hospitals) continue to try to figure out how best to try to get rid of the malignant brain tumor which is still there after surgery and 5 rounds of chemotherapy.  As usual, Keri and I have been working with our doctors, as well as doctors in Los Angeles/Oakland, Stanford, Houston, and Boston to determine the best course of action.

Jack, we hope you’re on your way home soon!  It sounds like there’s yummy food there to have, and I bet your sheets in the apartment are softer and less itchy for your sweet sensitive skin, too.

We’re busy here getting ready for the movers next week.  Brendan was talking about all the toys he’s going to put on the moving truck to bring to Cali so you cousins can play together.  Wait til you see his fun Macks and Cars race car track!

We have lots of prayers going for those big adult decisions happening this week, too.  Know that we’re thinking of you constantly, so many times a day, and that our hearts are right there with you.  We love you!

PS Uncle Greg’s traveling, but he’s checking in, too! smile

Hey Flap Jack, what is up with that nasty ol’ rash? Tell it to go away so that you can go home and ride on Mater and eat Texas toast. Ken says that you should dip the toast in ketchup. he says that it is extra yummy that way. i think about you everyday and I love you!! Hugs and kisses to all of you. Miss Belinda and Ken
