Jackson has been in the hospital since Sunday. So far, there is no end in sight. His blood counts are still very low, he is still feverish, and his itchy rash is miserably worse. It now covers well over half his body. He hates the itching. He won’t get out of the hospital until his blood counts are up, his fever is gone, and his rash is gone.
They don’t know the cause of the rash yet. It could be a virus, a reaction to a medication, or a rare complication from the bone marrow transplant. They are working to try to figure out the cause, and it will take a bit of time. All we really know at this point is that it is worse. One hope we have is that when his blood counts recover, it is at least conceivable that his own body may resolve the fever and the rash.
Yesterday, the bone marrow doctors sought help from the UCSF dermatologists regarding the rash. Meanwhile, Jackson has also obtained a 'second opinion' from his own personal dermatologist--his grandpa Jim!
We often like to put recent photos on the website, but the only recent photos we have of him are the rash pictures, so we've put up this one from our one trip back to Sacramento in early September instead.

Milkman, hopefully Grandpa Jim can figure out this rash, hang in there like you have as a strong young person and hopefully this rash, fever will be gone, blood counts up and then here comes your mater car, texas toast with no greens and french fries with no tops.
