Still In The Hospital
Jackson remains in the hospital. All we've been able to get him to eat all week has been one french fry. The doctors are monitoring his nutrition very closely through the IV, and since they seem to have worked out all of his problems except for the eating, they may let us try to go home with the IV nutrition bags in a couple days to see if we can get him to eat at home where he's more comfortable. The concern is that it's better for his gut to be working on its own both for health and to handle the next round of chemotherapy. The good news is that every so often he seems interested in food now, but after he tries it, he gets upset and refuses to eat it, usually saying it's "icky." We're hoping he starts eating soon, because we want to get him beefed up and healthy before we have to start his next round on the 3rd. Good luck Jackson!

Hey Jack....Come on big guy...ya gotta eat...tell mom and dad to load up on the junkfood. Hope your appetite comes back soon. Maggie wants to make some Snickerdoodle cookies and send to you....she says they are very yummy....maybe you’d like to eat those...we know WyWy would...lol. Okay Jack, so one french fry is a step in the right direction. We hope that your tastebuds get more normal soon so you can wolf down a whole super-sized carton with a whole bottle of ketchup poured on top very soon! We love you and send hugs and kisses to you, Mommy, Daddy, and Wyatt.

Okay Jackson I think it is time for Mommy & Daddy to pull out the big guns..."The Fancy Food!” Yep I am talking about all of those overpriced yogurts, psuedo milkshakes and ice creams that cost $3 dollars more because they have Dora, Shrek, Cars or Diego on them!! Yep the fancy wrapper it is! Maybe that is what you are waiting for?? You are holding out for the “fun ones” as Tommy & Nicky call them. Because I am thinking if you can “bulk up” by the next round we will be in perfect shape for “the Jack Attack!!”
Jackson, just keep on trying and I am sure this too will pass and hopefully soon. Remember small bites = big smiles for Mommy & Daddy......

Hi Keri & Kelly, it’s one familiar battle to me… the kid simply refusing food. There were times when I would also prepare Davina’s favorite only to be thrown up at first bite. We wish you continued strength and we hope Jack will be getting back his appetite very soon. We are praying for you.
